Ascorbyl Palmitate is a fat-soluble form of ascorbic acid that affects the antioxidant effect of vitamin C on lipids throughout the body. In vitro studies have shown that ascorbyl palmitate may be more effective as an antioxidant in protecting lipids from peroxidation than water-soluble vitamin C.
Functional action:
Ascorbyl palmitate or food additive E304 is a special form of vitamin C that dissolves in fats. Thanks to this property, ascorbyl palmitate easily penetrates the cell membranes of our body, acting as the strongest antioxidant for it. Over time, the cells of our body, which are made of fats, begin to accumulate toxic elements and break down. This process can be compared to metal corrosion.
Once in the human body, ascorbyl palmitate performs anti-corrosion work, protecting cell membranes from oxidation, the formation of toxic radicals, and ultimately from destruction.
Currently, this additive is widely used in the food industry (in order to prevent oxidation of products and to avoid the appearance of a bitter taste in them) in the manufacture of baby food, meat products, milk powder, semi-finished products and much more.
Due to the fact that ascorbyl palmitate penetrates well into skin cells, it has also found its application in cosmetology, performing such important functions as: protecting the skin from UV rays, stimulating the synthesis of collagen in the body, slowing down the aging of the skin and restoring its cells.
Application:
