If the edge of the seatpost clamp is sharp and could damage the rail, file the edge. The life of the rail will be extended. However, this does not eliminate the risk of damage. We recommend lubricating the clamp bolts and nuts before attaching the saddle to the seatpost. This will ensure that the correct tightening torque is obtained. If lubricant is not used and the bolts and nuts are made of different materials, accurate tightening torque cannot be obtained.
